The sweetest of the seven
Thai oud is the sweetest of the seven. Soft incense, a little tobacco, warm amber, and a smooth sweetness running through all of it. Sweet does not mean faint — it is still a proper oud, and it carries.
Ours is grown, not taken from wild forest. The trees are planted and tended, wounded deliberately, then left for years while the resin forms. No wound, no agarwood — it is the tree's own defence, and nothing else produces it.
What it smells like
- Opening: soft incense, cool green wood
- Middle: gentle tobacco, warm amber, a little floral
- Base: smooth sandalwood, creamy musk, light resin
It is the most balanced oil we carry. No sharp opening, no heavy finish. If you have only ever worn synthetic oud, this will not smell like it — it is deeper, and it lasts far longer.
How to wear it
- One touch on the wrist, a light dab at the collar. That is a full day.
- Give it ten to fifteen minutes before you judge it. The opening is not the scent.
- It suits daytime wear better than most oud, because sweet is easier on the people around you than smoke. One drop is enough.
- Expect six to eight hours on skin.
Worn lightly it unfolds over hours and people notice it only when they are near you. Worn heavily it fills a room and loses what made it worth having.
How it compares
Thai is the sweetest of the range. Sweeter than Cambodian but without its earthiness, nothing like the barnyard of Indian, and stronger than Malaysian or Burmese, which are the quieter oils. If you want one oud to wear often rather than occasionally, this is usually it.
